I love mining this aspect of ourselves, thank you. In courses I lead on end of life, I have an obituary writing exercise early on and I suggest not doing your first one on your mom or dad, or yourself, but on someone close but with a bit more distance, like an Uncle or an Aunt. I would recommend it as an exercise for anyone--it will put you in touch with emotions and allow you to tell a very concise story.
