Is Death Really Happening?

Under normal circumstances, the awkwardly phrased question about Death really happening would be interpreted to mean, ‘Is Death really final?’

These are unusual times, however, and it is a testament to the weirdness of Now that uncertainty exists over the mere fact of Deaths.

Are we in a period of normal dying, in which case, what the hey? Let’s go out to Costco! Or are we in a period of unusual dying, defined by a specific disease we need to deal with?

You would think this would be fairly self-evident.

It is not.

Define normal dying. Now show me your data demonstrating something unusual. Where did the data come from, how was it produced? What dynamics drove the categorization of Cause in the boxes checked, in moments all over the world under different pressures and influences?

Aggregated individual Death data as a source of meaning is contestable, because the initial categories and how they are used are contestable. Uncertainty is no longer about the effects of the Pandemic, it is about the existence of the Pandemic itself.

Is the Coronavirus a case of social engineering at scale, for the purpose of limiting individual freedom and conditioning us to be compliant citizens? Have Crisis Actors been employed? If so, how many? A hundred and…
