What do you remember about Be Here Now?

I’m guessing it’s pretty much, be here now.

If there has ever been a better-titled book, I don’t know what it is.

In Be Here Now, Ram Dass divides his life into three phases. Two of them touched mine and blew up previous mental models. They were asking to be blown up. I’m a Ram Dass fan.

A little after he died in December, 2019, I decided to feature Be Here Now in the Book Club I lead in VR. It’s one way to make sure I read something, or in this case, read it again.

What a unique book, just as a book. I’m so glad to have it in my physical possession.

Be Here Now is fun to read and easy to skim. There’s lots of amazing pictures.

I re-read it carefully and took notes.

The book has three main sections —

Journey

From Bindu to Ojas

Cookbook for a Sacred Life

I’d like to summarize them, focusing maybe not so much on the essence as on what jumped out at me, what was a little unexpected, what I’m still thinking about.

Overall, I was surprised, but I shouldn’t have been.
